Screenrights

Screenrights is a recent organisation set up to support Australian and educational institutions in the use of particularly television and radio for teaching purposes, while at the same time ensuring that sound and audio creatives are rewarded for such use of their work.

Institutions pay a fee to Screenrights and in return they are permitted to record television and radio broadcasts for classroom use.

Currently, more than 10,000 Australian and educational institutions subscribe to Screenrights. This brings in more than $17 million a year for distribution to the creatives who make the programs educators copy.
